This OCTET STRING is the twelfth of up to fifteen event-specific variable slots on a Windows event trap, one of the extra positions the MIB says are only populated by fuller, platform-specific event variants such as Windows Server 2003's 16-variable logon-failure event rather than XP's shorter 11-variable version. An admin polling a device that only emits XP-style events would typically find this slot empty. On a Server 2003 logon-failure trap, this field might carry additional authentication package details not present on XP.
