Description: This object determines the total number of currently active alarms, i.e. the total number of entries in the Alarm Table.
What is alarmNumber?
This counter reports the total number of alarms currently active in the system, equal to the total number of entries in the Alarm Table. An admin polls it as a single top-level health indicator before drilling into the table or the per-severity counters like alarmCriticalNumber. For example, a dashboard might show alarmNumber going from 12 to 40 overnight, prompting the operator to walk the Alarm Table for the new entries.
