This counter reports how many alarms currently active in the system's Alarm Table have a perceived severity of 'indeterminate'. An admin can poll it to spot alarms whose severity the managed element could not classify, which often signals a device or agent problem worth investigating on its own. For instance, a jump from 0 to 5 indeterminate alarms after a firmware update could indicate the new alarm-reporting logic isn't populating severity correctly.
