What is alarmCriticalNumber?
This counter reports how many alarms currently active in the Alarm Table have a perceived severity of 'critical'. Because critical alarms represent the most severe abnormal conditions the system tracks, an operator typically polls or alerts on this value to trigger immediate incident response. For example, seeing alarmCriticalNumber jump from 0 to 3 would prompt an on-call engineer to immediately query the Alarm Table for the newly raised critical entries.
