Description: The variance of the total response time values over the statistics window * 1000. A variance value of 1.337 would be returned by SA as 1337. The variance is calculated based on seconds, instead of milliseconds.
What is svcRspTableTotalVariance?
This read-only INTEGER reports the variance of total response-time samples over the statistics window, calculated in seconds and scaled by 1000 — per the DESCRIPTION, a variance of 1.337 seconds squared is reported as the integer 1337. An admin uses this to judge how consistent response times are, beyond just the mean. A high svcRspTableTotalVariance alongside a normal-looking svcRspTableTotalMean would tell an admin response times are erratic even though they average out fine.
