Access: read-write

Description: Specifies the letter case of MAC address string contained in User-Name attribute (attribute 1) during MAC-based authentication.

What is eltdot1xMacAuthFormatUsernameLettercase?

This setting determines whether the client's MAC address is rendered in lowercase or uppercase letters when the switch sends it as the username in a RADIUS User-Name attribute during MAC-based authentication. Administrators configure this to match whatever case convention their RADIUS server's user database expects, since MAC-based auth typically checks the MAC address against a list of known device addresses. For example, setting this to lowercase(1) would send a device's address as '00:1a:2b:3c:4d:5e' rather than the uppercase equivalent.
