Access: read-write

Description: Specifies the number of chars in each group of MAC address string contained in User-Name attribute (attribute 1) during MAC-based authentication.

What is eltdot1xMacAuthFormatUsernameGroupsize?

This setting controls how many hex characters are grouped together (separated by the configured separator character) when the switch formats a MAC address for the RADIUS User-Name attribute during MAC-based authentication -- for example grouping by single nibble, byte, or 4-byte word. Administrators tune this alongside the separator setting to match exactly the MAC-address formatting convention their RADIUS server expects for username lookups. For instance, choosing byte(2) would format an address as pairs like '00-1a-2b-3c-4d-5e' if the separator is set to dash.
