tftpDownloadAgentBoardFwDownloadNode
Module: ELS100-S24TX2M-MIB
OID (symbolic): ELS100-S24TX2M-MIB::tftpDownloadAgentBoardFwDownloadNode
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.3.9.1.10.7.4.3
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: Indicates whether a newly upgraded firmware version should write to flash. When this object is temporary(2), following a successful upgrade the system will switch to run the new firmware but will not upgrade the new firmware to flash. That means after a power cycle, system will run the firmware residing the flash. When this object is permanent(1), following a successful firmware upgrade, the flash will be upgraded and the system will automatically switch to run the new firmware.
What is tftpDownloadAgentBoardFwDownloadNode?
This setting controls whether a newly downloaded agent-board firmware image gets permanently written to flash storage or only loaded temporarily into running memory. An administrator sets this before initiating a firmware upgrade to decide whether the change should survive a power cycle (permanent) or should be tested first and revert to the old firmware on reboot (temporary), which is useful for validating a new firmware version before committing to it. For example, setting this to temporary(2) lets an admin try out a new firmware build risk-free, knowing the switch will fall back to the flash-resident version if it's power-cycled before the change is made permanent.
