efmCuPAFInLostFragments

Module: EFM-CU-MIB

OID (symbolic): EFM-CU-MIB::efmCuPAFInLostFragments

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.167.1.1.3.1.8

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter32

Access: read-only

Description: The number of gaps in the sequence of fragments that have been received across the gamma interface (the frame buffer is flushed to the next valid frame start, when fragment/fragments expected by the frame assembly function is/are not received). This read-only counter is inactive when the PAF is unsupported or disabled. Upon disabling the PAF, the counter retains its previous value.

If a Clause 45 MDIO Interface to the PCS is present, then this object maps to the 10P/2B PAF lost fragment register.

Discontinuities in the value of this counter can occur at re-initialization of the management system, and at other times as indicated by the value of ifCounterDiscontinuityTime, defined in IF-MIB.

What is efmCuPAFInLostFragments?

This read-only counter counts gaps detected in the sequence of fragments arriving over the gamma interface, where an expected fragment simply never showed up, forcing the reassembly buffer to flush. This is a good indicator of dropped data on one or more of the bonded copper pairs.
