Module: EFM-CU-MIB

OID (symbolic): EFM-CU-MIB::efmCuFltStatus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.167.1.1.3.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Bits

Access: read-only

Description: EFMCu (PCS) port Fault Status. This is a bitmap of possible conditions. The various bit positions are: noPeer - the peer PHY cannot be reached (e.g., no PMEs attached, all PMEs are Down, etc.). More info is available in efmCuPmeFltStatus. peerPowerLoss - the peer PHY has indicated impending unit failure due to loss of local power ('Dying Gasp'). pmeSubTypeMismatch - local PMEs in the aggregation group are not of the same subtype, e.g., some PMEs in the local device are -O while others are -R subtype. lowRate - ifSpeed of the port reached or dropped below efmCuThreshLowRate.

This object is intended to supplement the ifOperStatus object in IF-MIB and ifMauMediaAvailable in MAU-MIB.

Additional information is available via the efmCuPmeFltStatus object for each PME in the aggregation group (single PME if PAF is disabled).

What is efmCuFltStatus?

This read-only bitmap reports fault conditions on the EFM copper (PCS) port: noPeer (peer unreachable), peerPowerLoss (remote unit reporting a power-loss 'dying gasp'), pmeSubTypeMismatch (bonded PMEs aren't all the same subtype), and lowRate (speed has crossed the low-rate threshold). An admin diagnosing a degraded bonded link would check this alongside ifOperStatus to pinpoint which specific condition is present.
