Description: The amount of time remaining before this prune should expire at the upstream neighbor. This value should be the minimum of the default prune lifetime and the remaining prune lifetimes of the local router's downstream neighbors, if any.

What is dvmrpPruneExpiryTime?

Time remaining, in timeticks, before this upstream prune state expires and the router resumes forwarding multicast traffic for the pruned (group, source) pair unless re-pruned; set to the minimum of the local prune lifetime and any downstream neighbors' remaining prune lifetimes.

How to Use in IPNetwork Monitor

Select a DVMRP-capable multicast router as the target host to create a monitor — the SNMP service should be up and running on it. Click New Monitor, then check SNMP Custom on the Favorites tab, click Next, and confirm the host. On the next page, click Select... to open the built-in SNMP MIB Browser and type dvmrpPruneExpiryTime into the Find box to locate it in the OID tree, then select it and click OK. It reports the time remaining before this multicast prune state expires at the upstream neighbor. On the monitor's Main parameters page you can set the target's SNMP port (default 161), credentials, polling interval, and other settings — see the SNMP Monitor help for details. On the State conditions and Alerting tabs, configure when the monitor should change state and trigger an alert; since this is a TimeTicks-type OID, Value bounds is the most useful condition here — trigger an alert if the value stays unexpectedly high for longer than the configured prune lifetime would suggest, since that can indicate a stuck or stale prune entry. Click Finish to create the monitor; you can adjust any parameter later.
