dvmrpNeighborLoss

Module: DVMRP-MIB

OID (symbolic): DVMRP-MIB::dvmrpNeighborLoss

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.3.62.1.1.11.1

Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE

Description: A dvmrpNeighborLoss trap signifies the loss of a 2-way adjacency with a neighbor. This trap should be generated when the neighbor state changes from active to one-way, ignoring, or down. The trap should be generated only if the router has no other neighbors on the same interface with a lower IP address than itself.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' DVMRP-MIB::dvmrpNeighborLoss
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.3.62.1.1.11.1

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public

Example snmptrapd log entry:

zoo11-linux.zoo [UDP: [192.168.30.111]:49965->[192.168.30.10]:162]:
  DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (30066989) 3 days, 11:31:09.89
  SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID: DVMRP-MIB::dvmrpNeighborLoss
