This read-only counter tallies the number of DNS queries originating from designated 'friendly' DNS servers that the local server answered by referring to other authoritative servers instead of answering directly. The definition of friendly servers is locally configured. An operator monitors this to understand query patterns and load distribution among DNS servers.
