agentSflowSourceInterface

Module: DNOS-SFLOW-MIB

OID (symbolic): DNOS-SFLOW-MIB::agentSflowSourceInterface

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10895.5000.2.6132.1.1.59.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: InterfaceIndexOrZero

Access: read-write

Description: A source-interface selection on an Interface Index (like vlan based routing interface, port based routing interface, loopback interface, tunnel interface). A non-zero value indicates ifIndex for the corresponding interface entry in the ifTable is selected. A zero value indicates source-interface is un-configured.

What is agentSflowSourceInterface?

This object picks which of the switch's interfaces — a VLAN routing interface, port-based routing interface, loopback, or tunnel — supplies the source address for the sFlow traffic-sampling datagrams the device sends to its collector. A non-zero ifIndex value pins sFlow exports to a specific, stable interface (commonly a loopback), while zero means no source interface has been configured and the switch picks one automatically. Pointing this at a loopback interface's ifIndex ensures the sFlow collector always sees a consistent source IP even if physical uplinks change.
