agentDcbxAutoCfgPortRole

Module: DNOS-DCBX-MIB

OID (symbolic): DNOS-DCBX-MIB::agentDcbxAutoCfgPortRole

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10895.5000.2.6132.1.1.58.1.1.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: DcbxPortRole

Access: read-write

Description: Ports operating in the manual role do not have their configuration affected by peer devices or by internal propagation of configuration. These ports will advertise their configuration to their peer if DCBX is enabled on that port.

Auto-up: Advertises a configuration, but is also willing to accept a configuration from the link-partner and propagate it internally to the auto-downstream ports as well as receive configuration propagated internally by other auto-upstream ports.

Auto-down: Advertises a configuration but is not willing to accept one from the link partner. However, the port will accept a configuration propagated internally by the configuration source.

Configuration Source:In this role, the port has been manually selected to be the configuration source. Configuration received over this port is propagated to the other auto-configuration ports.

What is agentDcbxAutoCfgPortRole?

This read-write DcbxPortRole selects how a Data Center Bridging Exchange (DCBX) port behaves in configuration propagation: manual ports ignore peer/internal configuration while still advertising their own, auto-up ports accept peer configuration and relay it internally, auto-down ports advertise but only accept internally-propagated configuration, and configSource marks the port as the manually chosen source that feeds the auto ports. Admins set this per interface to control which switch or port becomes the authoritative source of DCB (priority flow control/ETS) settings across a converged Ethernet fabric. For example, setting the uplink port to configSource(4) and downlink ports to autodown(3) makes the uplink's DCB configuration automatically propagate to the downstream ports.

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10895.5000.2.6132.1.1.58.1.1.1.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> DNOS-DCBX-MIB::agentDcbxAutoCfgPortRole.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10895.5000.2.6132.1.1.58.1.1.1.2.1 s <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> agentDcbxAutoCfgPortRole.1
