What is dSafeguardEngineState?

This value turns the switch's Safeguard Engine feature on or off, a mechanism designed to protect the switch's CPU from being overwhelmed by excessive control-plane traffic such as broadcast storms or DoS-style floods. An admin enables this to help the switch remain manageable and stable even under abnormal traffic conditions that would otherwise overload its management CPU. For example, setting this to enable(1) activates automatic CPU-protection behavior that kicks in once traffic load crosses the configured thresholds.

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> DLINKSW-SAFEGUARD-ENGINE-MIB::dSafeguardEngineState

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.26.19.1.1.1.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> DLINKSW-SAFEGUARD-ENGINE-MIB::dSafeguardEngineState.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.26.19.1.1.1.1.1 i <value>
