dErrDisNotifRate

Module: DLINKSW-ERROR-DISABLE-MIB

OID (symbolic): DLINKSW-ERROR-DISABLE-MIB::dErrDisNotifRate

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.26.45.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Description: Expressed in the number of notifications can be generated per minute. This object configures the rate-limit of SNMP Notification for errDisable feature. A value of 0 indicates that an SNMP Notification is generated for every error disabled event.

What is dErrDisNotifRate?

This object configures the maximum rate, in notifications per minute, at which the switch will send SNMP traps for error-disable events. Admins use it to throttle trap storms on switches with many ports flapping in and out of error-disable, preventing the notification receiver from being flooded. For example, setting this to 0 (the default) means every single error-disable event generates its own trap with no rate limiting, while setting it to 10 caps traps at ten per minute regardless of how many ports trip.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.26.45.1.5
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> DLINKSW-ERROR-DISABLE-MIB::dErrDisNotifRate

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.26.45.1.5.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> DLINKSW-ERROR-DISABLE-MIB::dErrDisNotifRate.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.26.45.1.5.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> dErrDisNotifRate.1
