swCurrentClock

Module: DLINK-TIME-MIB

OID (symbolic): DLINK-TIME-MIB::swCurrentClock

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.12.10.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: DateAndTime

Access: read-write

Description: The current local date and time for the system. Setting this object is equivalent to setting an automated clock and calendar. The value of the object will track the date and time from the value set. Note that due to hardware limitations some systems may not be able to preserve such meaning across reboots of the system, as indicated by swDlinkClockLostOnReboot. A constant value of all zeros and length 8 indicates the system is not aware of the present date and time. This object may be read-only on some systems.

What is swCurrentClock?

This field holds the device's current local date and time, and can be set directly like an automated clock and calendar. Admins set this manually on devices without SNTP or a battery-backed clock to keep accurate timestamps in logs, though some hardware may lose this value across a reboot. For example, a value of all zeros and length 8 tells the admin the system currently has no idea what the real date and time are.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.12.10.2
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> DLINK-TIME-MIB::swCurrentClock

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.12.10.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> DLINK-TIME-MIB::swCurrentClock.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.12.10.2.1 s <value>
