Description: D-Link 3100 baud rate MIB providing objects to configure serial console port speed and communication parameters.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is DLINK-3100-BaudRate-MIB?

DLINK-3100-BaudRate-MIB is a small private/proprietary MIB for D-Link's 3100-series switch platform, dedicated solely to the device's RS-232 serial console management interface. It exposes objects for the MIB's own version, whether auto baud-rate detection is enabled (and whether that setting persists after a reset), and the currently configured serial baud rate for the console port. Rather than covering broad hardware health, its monitoring value is narrow but useful for out-of-band management assurance: confirming that the console port's communication speed and auto-detect behavior are set as expected so a technician can reliably reach the device via serial cable during an outage. It is a self-contained module with no apparent dependency on other standard MIBs beyond the device's private enterprise tree. It is typically used in field and lab deployments of D-Link 3100-series switches where operators rely on direct serial console access for initial setup or recovery. Engineers can download the DLINK-3100-BaudRate-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in DLINK-3100-BaudRate-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • D-Link 3100-series switches

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll rlRs232BaudRate to confirm the console port is set to the expected speed (e.g., 9600 or 115200 bps) before attempting a serial connection, and check rlRs232AutoBaudRateStatus versus rlRs232AutoBaudRateStatusAfterReset to see whether auto-baud detection will persist through a reboot. rlRs232MibVersion lets a management tool confirm which revision of this private MIB the device implements before deciding which objects are safe to poll.

What Can Be Monitored

  • console port baud rate
  • auto baud-rate detection status
  • auto baud-rate persistence after reset
  • MIB version
