schedStorageType

Module: DISMAN-SCHEDULE-MIB

OID (symbolic): DISMAN-SCHEDULE-MIB::schedStorageType

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.63.1.2.1.19

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: StorageType

Access: read-create

Description: This object defines whether this scheduled action is kept in volatile storage and lost upon reboot or if this row is backed up by non-volatile or permanent storage.

Conceptual rows having the value `permanent' must allow write access to the columnar objects schedDescr, schedInterval, schedContextName, schedVariable, schedValue, and schedAdminStatus. If an implementation supports the schedCalendarGroup, write access must be also allowed to the columnar objects schedWeekDay, schedMonth, schedDay, schedHour, schedMinute.

What is schedStorageType?

This object indicates whether this scheduling entry is stored in volatile memory, and lost on reboot, or in non-volatile/permanent storage that survives a restart. Admins set it to permanent for schedules that must keep running after a device reboot, while volatile is appropriate for temporary or test schedules. For example, setting schedStorageType to nonVolatile for a recurring backup job ensures it isn't wiped out the next time the device restarts.
