Module: DIAL-CONTROL-MIB

OID (symbolic): DIAL-CONTROL-MIB::dialCtlPeerCfgMinDuration

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.10.21.1.2.1.1.12

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-create

Description:

Minimum duration of a call in seconds, starting from the time the call is connected until the call is disconnected. This is to accomplish the fact that in most countries charging applies to units of time, which should be matched as closely as possible.

What is dialCtlPeerCfgMinDuration?

This read-write number sets the minimum connection duration in seconds to match the carrier's billing increments, preventing disconnection before a billing period completes. Operators configure this to align with how the carrier charges, typically in 60-second or 120-second blocks. An ISDN backup line might be set to 120 seconds minimum to avoid paying for a 1-second call when a 2-minute billing unit is charged anyway.
