dialCtlPeerCfgLowerIf
Module: DIAL-CONTROL-MIB
OID (symbolic): DIAL-CONTROL-MIB::dialCtlPeerCfgLowerIf
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.10.21.1.2.1.1.3
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: InterfaceIndexOrZero
Access: read-create
Description:
ifIndex value of an interface the peer will have to be called on. For example, on an ISDN interface, this can be the ifIndex value of a D channel or the ifIndex value of a B channel, whatever is appropriate for a given peer. As an example, for Basic Rate leased lines it will be necessary to specify a B channel ifIndex, while for
semi-permanent connections the D channel ifIndex has to be specified. If the interface can be dynamically assigned, this object has a value of zero.
What is dialCtlPeerCfgLowerIf?
This read-write value identifies a specific physical port or channel (by its interface index number) that must be used to reach a particular peer, or zero if the interface can be chosen automatically. Engineers use this when a router has multiple ISDN lines and a specific peer is reachable only through one of them. For example, a backup site might be configured to dial through channel B1 while primary traffic uses channel B2.
