Description: This object indicates the type of remote ID. If the type is default ,the remote ID will be VLAN ID + Module + Port +System MAC address of the device; If the type is cid-with-user-defined,the remote ID will be VLAN ID + Module + Port + user defined string; If the type is user-defined, the remote ID will be user defined string.
What is swDHCPv6RelayOption37RemoteIDType?
This value selects how the DHCPv6 relay Remote-ID (option 37) is constructed: default combines VLAN ID, module, port, and the system MAC address; cid-with-user-defined combines those fields with an admin-supplied string; and user-defined uses only the admin-supplied string. Admins pick the type based on what identifying scheme their DHCPv6 server expects to see in relayed requests. For example, setting this to user-defined(3) makes the switch send only the custom string configured in swDHCPv6RelayOption37UserDefined as the Remote-ID.
