Description: The way multicasts should forwarded on this interface; not forwarded, forwarded as data link multicasts, or forwarded as data link uni- casts. Data link multicasting is not meaning- ful on point to point and NBMA interfaces, and setting ospfMulticastForwarding to 0 effective- ly disables all multicast forwarding.
What is swL3ospfIfMulticastForwarding?
Controls whether OSPF multicasts are forwarded on this interface at all, and if so as data-link multicasts or as per-neighbor unicasts; the setting is meaningless on point-to-point/NBMA interfaces, where blocked(1) effectively disables multicast forwarding. Admins normally leave this at the vendor default unless troubleshooting multicast-based OSPF exchanges on unusual media.
