swL3OspfExternalLsdbChecksum
Module: DGS-3420-26SC-L3MGMT-MIB
OID (symbolic): DGS-3420-26SC-L3MGMT-MIB::swL3OspfExternalLsdbChecksum
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.11.119.6.3.13.2.1.8
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: Integer32
Access: read-only
Description: This field is the checksum of the complete contents of the advertisement, except the age field. The age field is the exception so that an advertisement's age can be incremented without updating the checksum. The checksum used is the same that is used for ISO connec- tionless datagrams; it is commonly referred to as the Fletcher checksum.
What is swL3OspfExternalLsdbChecksum?
The Fletcher checksum over this external LSA's contents, excluding the age field, the same algorithm used for internal LSAs, letting OSPF detect a corrupted external advertisement. Admins rarely need to read this directly outside of low-level protocol troubleshooting.
Examples
Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.11.119.6.3.13.2.1.8 snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> DGS-3420-26SC-L3MGMT-MIB::swL3OspfExternalLsdbChecksum
Get a specific instance (index 1):
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.11.119.6.3.13.2.1.8.1 snmpget -v2c -c public <target> DGS-3420-26SC-L3MGMT-MIB::swL3OspfExternalLsdbChecksum.1
SNMPv3 example:
snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> swL3OspfExternalLsdbChecksum.1
