Module: DGS-1248T-B1-MIB
OID (symbolic): DGS-1248T-B1-MIB::igsStatus
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.10.76.6.22.1.2
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: Enables or disables IGMP snooping in the system.
What is igsStatus?
This enables or disables IGMP snooping on the switch, which lets it listen in on IGMP join/leave messages so it only forwards multicast traffic to ports that actually have interested receivers. An admin enables this (default is disabled per the DEFVAL of 2) in networks running IPTV or other multicast applications to avoid flooding multicast traffic to every port.
