swL2DevCtrlSnmpEnableAuthenTraps

Module: DES3026-L2MGMT-MIB

OID (symbolic): DES3026-L2MGMT-MIB::swL2DevCtrlSnmpEnableAuthenTraps

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.11.63.3.2.1.2.13

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Indicates whether the SNMP entity is permitted to generate authenticationFailure traps. The value of this object overrides any configuration information; as such, it provides a means whereby all authenticationFailure traps may be disabled.

Note that it is strongly recommended that this object be stored in non-volatile memory so that it remains constant across re-initializations of the network management system.

What is swL2DevCtrlSnmpEnableAuthenTraps?

Controls whether the switch is allowed to generate SNMP authenticationFailure traps, overriding any other configuration. Admins set this to disabled(2) to silence noisy traps from repeated failed SNMP auth attempts, or enabled(1) to be alerted to unauthorized access attempts; the object itself recommends storing this setting in non-volatile memory so it survives reboots.
