swL2DevCtrlSnmpEnableAuthenTraps

Module: DES3010g-L2MGMT-MIB

OID (symbolic): DES3010g-L2MGMT-MIB::swL2DevCtrlSnmpEnableAuthenTraps

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.11.63.1.2.2.1.2.13

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Indicates whether the SNMP entity is permitted to generate authenticationFailure traps. The value of this object overrides any configuration information; as such, it provides a means whereby all authenticationFailure traps may be disabled.

Note that it is strongly recommended that this object be stored in non-volatile memory so that it remains constant across re-initializations of the network management system.

What is swL2DevCtrlSnmpEnableAuthenTraps?

Standard SNMPv2 authenticationFailure trap toggle: enabled(1) lets the agent send a trap whenever an SNMP request fails authentication (e.g. wrong community string), disabled(2) suppresses all such traps regardless of per-user config. It should be stored in non-volatile memory so the setting survives a reboot.
