Description: The total number of frames received that were longer than 1518 (1522 Bytes in case of VLAN Tag) octets (excluding framing bits, but including FCS octets) and were otherwise well formed. This counter is not incremented for too long frames.
What is bpIfStatsInGiants?
This Counter64 counts well-formed frames received on a backplane hiGig port that were longer than 1518 octets (1522 with VLAN tag), excluding frames rejected outright as too long. It's the complement of bpIfStatsInRunts, flagging oversized frames on the internal fabric link. A growing count can indicate a jumbo-frame misconfiguration between line cards sharing the backplane.
