What is bpDropsInMacDrops?
This Counter64 counts packets dropped at the MAC layer on ingress for a given backplane hiGig port. It lets an admin isolate physical-layer or MAC-level backplane errors from the higher-level hiGig header/opcode drops tracked elsewhere in the same table. A rising count typically signals a marginal internal link between a line card and the fabric module.
