chasEntityAdminStatus

Module: DECHUB900-CHASSIS-MIB-V3-0

OID (symbolic): DECHUB900-CHASSIS-MIB-V3-0::chasEntityAdminStatus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.36.2.18.11.1.1.1.2.2.1.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This object provides the administratively desired state of the given entity.

An entity is activated by writing a value of enable(2).

An entity may be de-activated by writing a value of disable(3). In a disabled state, a entity exists within the chassis, but is benign. A disabled entity is available for subsequent activation. (The table entry remains, but the entity for which it refers is disabled. The entity will perform no SNMP, except the operation to this object.)

Writing a value of reset(4) specifies an entity initiate a reset sequence.

Writing a value of programload(5) specifies an entity initiate a program load sequence.

Writing a value of test(6) specifies an entity initiate a testing sequence.

Agent support of the writing of any of the values of this object is implementation-specific. For example, this object might be read-only for entities that disabling would compromise the integrity of the chassis. Or, devices which do not support downline load may reject sets to programLoad(5).

*************************************************************** This object has been deprecated. Devices no longer have to support it. It's OID may not be reused. For devices which already support it, it may *not* be used for any purpose other than its original indended purpose described above. ***************************************************************

What is chasEntityAdminStatus?

Deprecated read-write control that could enable(2)/disable(3) an entity, or trigger reset(4), programload(5), or test(6) actions. Superseded by chasSlotModuleAdminStatus; admins should use that object instead on current hardware.
