swDdmThresholdExceedType

Module: DDM-MGMT-MIB

OID (symbolic): DDM-MGMT-MIB::swDdmThresholdExceedType

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.12.72.4.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: accessible-for-notify

Description: This object is used by swDdmAlarmTrap and swDdmWarningTrap to indicate if the threshold that was exceeded was a high threshold or a low threshold.

What is swDdmThresholdExceedType?

This notification-only integer, carried as a variable binding in swDdmAlarmTrap and swDdmWarningTrap, tells the receiving NMS whether the threshold that was exceeded was a high(1) or low(2) threshold. An admin reading a trap uses this field to know immediately whether a port's optic ran too hot/bright or too cold/dim without cross-referencing the configured threshold tables. For example, a trap carrying swDdmThresholdExceedType=low(2) alongside a rxPower threshold type means the port's receive power fell below its low alarm.
