swDdmBiasCurrent
Module: DDM-MGMT-MIB
OID (symbolic): DDM-MGMT-MIB::swDdmBiasCurrent
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.12.72.2.1.1.1.4
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: DisplayString
Access: read-only
Description: This object indicates the real time value of the tx bias.
What is swDdmBiasCurrent?
This read-only value reports the transceiver's real-time laser bias current, encoded as a DisplayString because the underlying reading is a floating-point number. An admin tracks bias current because a laser diode's bias rises as it ages, making this value an early warning of approaching end-of-life before the link actually drops. For example, a steadily climbing reading like "45.6" mA on an aging SFP is a sign to schedule its replacement.
