TCA
What is cyanEventTca?
This SNMP notification (trap) signals a TCA (Threshold Crossing Alert) event from a Cyan optical networking node, indicating that a monitored parameter has crossed a configured threshold. The trap includes event details such as event type, source, and additional context. An operator receives this alarm when optical performance parameters degrade and approach warning or critical levels, triggering investigation and remediation.
Examples
Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' CYAN-MIB::cyanEventTca snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.28533.5.20.30.10008
Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):
snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
Example snmptrapd log entry:
