Module: CYAN-MIB
OID (symbolic): CYAN-MIB::cyanAlarmTpLos
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.28533.5.20.30.52
Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE
Description: TP_LOS
What is cyanAlarmTpLos?
This SNMP notification (trap) is triggered when a Cyan optical transport device detects a loss of signal (LOS) condition on a tributary port. LOS indicates that the expected optical signal has disappeared, which could indicate fiber cuts, device failures, or signal degradation. Operations teams use this alarm to quickly diagnose and respond to physical layer optical network failures.
Examples
Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' CYAN-MIB::cyanAlarmTpLos snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.28533.5.20.30.52
Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):
snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
Example snmptrapd log entry:
zoo11-linux.zoo [UDP: [192.168.30.111]:57487->[192.168.30.10]:162]: DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (12115087) 1 days, 9:39:10.87 SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID: CYAN-MIB::cyanAlarmTpLos
