ctTxQBufferOptimizeEnable

Module: CTRON-TX-QUEUE-ARBITRATION-MIB

OID (symbolic): CTRON-TX-QUEUE-ARBITRATION-MIB::ctTxQBufferOptimizeEnable

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.1.5.12.2.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: enabled (1) - optimize system buffer distribution for default CoS queue disabled (2) - use default system buffer distribution.

What is ctTxQBufferOptimizeEnable?

This value toggles whether the switch reallocates its shared packet-buffer memory to favor the default class-of-service transmit queue, versus using the device's standard, unoptimized buffer distribution across all queues. An admin would enable this in environments where most traffic rides the default CoS queue and could benefit from extra buffer headroom to avoid drops during bursts. For example, setting this to enable(1) on a switch handling mostly best-effort traffic in the default queue could reduce packet loss during momentary traffic spikes at the cost of less buffer available to other queues.
