Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: The number of 'slices' into which transmit resources are divided. This determines the resolution with which transmit priority can be allocated to each of the transmit queues. For example, if the number of slices is 16, then transmit resources may be allocated to each transmit queue in units of 1/16 (6.25% of the total). The numbers of slices allocated to all queues must add up to the value of this object (i.e., 100%).

What is ctTxQArbNumSlices?

This value reports how finely a port group's transmit bandwidth is divided into allocatable slices for queue arbitration, with the total number of slices representing 100% of that port's transmit capacity. An admin uses this number as the denominator when deciding how many slices to assign each queue via ctTxQArbSetting, since all queues' slice allocations together must sum to this total. For example, if this value is 16, an admin could give one queue 8 slices, 50%, and split the remaining 8 slices among the other queues.
