ctFramerStatsConfig

Module: CTFRAMER-CONFIG-MIB

OID (symbolic): CTFRAMER-CONFIG-MIB::ctFramerStatsConfig

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.52.4.3.3.9.1.1.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Setting this object to 'on' will activate the framer MIBs as specified by either RFC-1595 or RFC-1407 depending on whether the interface uses SONET/SDH framing or DS3 framing respectively. Note: Setting this to 'on' will permit gathering of framer statistics at the expense of processing time. However, it might be a valuable debugging aid to turn on the framer MIB.

Setting this object to 'off' will deactivate the respective framer MIBs, thus saving processing time.

It is emphasized that collection of statistics for the framer is resource (processor, memory) intensive.

This object is persistent.

What is ctFramerStatsConfig?

This read-write value turns the interface's RFC-1595 (SONET/SDH) or RFC-1407 (DS3) framer statistics MIB on or off, depending on the interface's framing type. An admin enables it only while actively troubleshooting since gathering framer stats costs processing time. For example, an admin sets ctFramerStatsConfig to on(1) on a suspect DS3 interface to start collecting framer error statistics, then switches it back off once the investigation is done.
