Description: The number of probes which are sent for each hop. This variable cannot be set while straceOperation is on.
What is straceNumProbes?
This sets how many probe packets are sent for each hop along the traceroute path, and it cannot be changed while the traceroute is running. Sending multiple probes per hop gives an admin a more reliable measurement of that hop's response time and helps distinguish one-off packet loss from a consistently unresponsive hop. An admin wanting more confidence in a noisy path's timing would increase straceNumProbes above the default single probe.
