Description: The hop count for a set of probes with a particular TTL.
What is straceHop?
This is the hop count corresponding to a set of probes sent with a particular TTL value during the traceroute. It tells an admin which position along the path, meaning how many routers away, the associated probe results describe. To see a particular router encountered on the path, an admin would look at the straceHop table entry with the matching hop value.
