Module: CTATX-MIB

OID (symbolic): CTATX-MIB::straceDataSize

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.97.3.33.2.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The size of the datagram sent with each probe. This variable cannot be set while straceOperation is on.

What is straceDataSize?

This sets the size of the datagram sent with each traceroute probe, and it cannot be changed while the traceroute is running. Adjusting it lets an admin test path behavior with different packet sizes, similar to testing for MTU-related issues along a route. An admin suspecting a specific hop drops larger packets would increase straceDataSize to see at which hop the trace stalls.
