Description: The IP address to be used for multicast router advertisements for this interface. If multicast(1), the all-systems multicast 224.0.0.1 is used. If broadcast, the limited-broadcast 255.255.255.255 is used.
What is srtrdiscAdvertisementAddress?
This read-write enumerated INTEGER selects whether router advertisements use the all-systems multicast address 224.0.0.1 or the limited broadcast address 255.255.255.255 on this interface. An admin chooses broadcast(2) instead of the default multicast option when attached hosts or older equipment don't properly support IP multicast reception. Setting srtrdiscAdvertisementAddress to broadcast(2) ensures router advertisements reach older hosts on the segment that can't receive IP multicast traffic.
