This option applies only to token ring ports.
What is sprotoIpxTranslate?
This read-write enumerated INTEGER, applicable only to token ring ports, specifies whether Novell IPX frames are translated to Ethernet-like frame format when bridged. An admin enables this on a Token Ring port bridging to an Ethernet segment carrying IPX traffic, so frame formats are compatible across the bridge. Enabling sprotoIpxTranslate on a Token Ring port lets IPX clients there communicate transparently with IPX servers on a bridged Ethernet segment.
