Module: CTATX-MIB

OID (symbolic): CTATX-MIB::spingCount

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.97.3.32.2.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The number of ping requests which are to be sent. This variable cannot be set while spingOperation is on.

What is spingCount?

This sets the number of ping ECHO_REQUEST messages that will be sent for this test, and it cannot be changed while the ping is currently running. It lets an admin control the sample size of a reachability or latency test, trading off test duration against statistical confidence. An admin wanting a quick reachability check might set spingCount low, while one wanting a longer latency trend would set it much higher.
