slogOverwrite

Module: CTATX-MIB

OID (symbolic): CTATX-MIB::slogOverwrite

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.97.3.28.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: When enabled, logging entries will be overwritten in the logging queue. When disabled, the entries in the logging queue will not be overwritten until someone reads them.

What is slogOverwrite?

This setting controls whether new log entries overwrite older ones in the logging queue once it fills, or instead wait until the existing entries have been read. Disabling it protects against losing unread log history during a busy period, at the risk of the log filling up if nobody reads it. An admin who wants to guarantee no log entries are lost before review would set slogOverwrite to disabled.
