Description: The interface port number on which corresponding IPM statistics gather.

What is sipmStatIfIndex?

This is the interface port number that identifies which port the accompanying IP multicast statistics were collected on. Admins use it to associate multicast counters like bad-packet or cache-miss counts with a specific physical port rather than the whole device. For instance, when sipmInBadPackets shows errors, checking sipmStatIfIndex for that entry tells you it's a particular port that's receiving the malformed multicast traffic.
