What is sipmRouteMetric?
This read-only INTEGER is the distance, in number of hops, to the origin subnetwork for this multicast route entry. An admin uses this to gauge how far upstream the multicast source network is from this device along the reverse path. A high sipmRouteMetric for a given source subnet suggests multicast traffic from there travels a long upstream path before reaching this router.
