Module: CTATX-MIB

OID (symbolic): CTATX-MIB::ruleAllowIpWithinIp

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.97.3.23.2.1.14

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Boolean

Access: read-write

Description: Whether to forward IP encapsulated within IP packets (IP protocol 4).

What is ruleAllowIpWithinIp?

This boolean controls whether IP-encapsulated-within-IP packets, IP protocol 4, are forwarded under this rule. This protocol is used for certain tunneling schemes, so an admin would enable it only if IP-in-IP tunnels are expected to pass through that port. A site running an IP-in-IP tunnel to a remote office would need ruleAllowIpWithinIp enabled on the rule covering that link.
