ruleAllowEgp

Module: CTATX-MIB

OID (symbolic): CTATX-MIB::ruleAllowEgp

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.97.3.23.2.1.15

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Boolean

Access: read-write

Description: Whether to forward EGP packets (IP protocol 8).

What is ruleAllowEgp?

This boolean controls whether Exterior Gateway Protocol packets, IP protocol 8, are forwarded under this rule. EGP is an older inter-autonomous-system routing protocol, so this setting matters only where legacy EGP peering is still in use. An admin maintaining a legacy EGP peering session through this router would need ruleAllowEgp enabled.
