This read-write INTEGER sets the value assigned to ipRouteMetric2 when a statically-defined entry is added to the IP Routing Table, used to rank it against RIP-, OSPF-, and EGP-learned routes to the same destination. An administrator tunes this to make manually configured routes win or lose tie-breaks against dynamically learned alternatives. For example, the admin sets ppeStaticPreference more favorably than ppeRipPreference so a manually configured static route always wins over a RIP-learned alternative to the same network.
